Bapt & Clem's by Darroze, Rum, Aged 4 Years, Trinidad et Tobago
A very fine nose blending aromas of sugar cane, dried fruits (dates, apricot), spices and honey. There are also flavors of custard, vanilla and sweet pepper. Spicy notes are also present on the palate with pepper, chili and balsamic. Lots of roundness, fat and long in the mouth.
Distillery: Angostura. The origin of Angostura is a medicinal remedy – a bitter liqueur made from local plants and spices, invented in Venezuela to relieve troops ravaged by fever. Due to political instability, the company moved to the island of Trinidad and continued to operate from there.
At the turn of the 20th century, Angostura entered the rum market, initially only to bottle the production of other distilleries. After several years of intensive research into fermentation and distillation methods, in 1945 Angostura set up a state-of-the-art distillery and its first rums were created.
