Ca' Del Baio Barbaresco DOCG "Asili"

The history of Ca’ del Baio begins from this vineyard, cultivated in one of the most famous Langa Crus in the world, and this wine contains the precious fruit of our oldest vineyards, refined and elegant.

Color bright garnet red, with slight orange tinges; nose intense, with fruity aromas of marasca cherries and hints of violets. Spicy notes of black pepper, liquorice and goudron; taste dry, warm and soft, showing a long, rich, smooth flavor. Italian sweet wine par excellence, traditionally accompanies leavened desserts (brioche and panettone), those based on creams and Chantilly, and fruit desserts.

Ca' Del Baio Barbaresco DOCG "Asili" 2020	95 Vinous The 2020 Barbaresco Asili is one of the most beautiful, pure wines I have ever tasted from Ca’ del Baio. Lifted aromatics and bright red-toned fruits are classic Asili signatures. The tannins will need a bit of time to soften, but all the elements are impeccably balanced. This is impressive stuff, and a gorgeous wine. 94 James Suckling Notes of spiced cherries and dried wild strawberries with dried rosemary, lilac and bark. Medium- to full-bodied with a firm grip of velvety tannins and juicy acidity coming through. Attractive notes of cherries and dried herbs mixed with citrus peel. Vibrant. Try from 2025. Ca' Del Baio Barbaresco DOCG "Asili" 2021	96 James Suckling Strawberries, watermelon, pomegranate, fresh violets and a lot of orange peel. Then the full-bodied palate shows pinot-like elegance, almost silky tannins and great concentration of fruit, with rhubarb notes, fierce tannins that are elegant and ripe, refreshing acidity and a long, precise, polished aftertaste. Drink or hold. 95 Vinous The 2021 Barbaresco Asili shows all the pedigree of this great site. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, mint, cinnamon, and rose petals soar from the glass.
