A beautiful dark and deep color. On the nose, it reveals intense aromas of ripe black fruits as well as delicate notes of licorice and chocolate. The tannin structure is solid, the tannins are ripe, silky. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, generous, with a beautiful acidity which brings freshness and balance. The finish is long, persistent. Fruity, spicy notes stand guard. Blend: 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 5% Petit Verdot

Chateau Malescot Saint Exupery 2023	96-97 James Suckling This has a very deep and beautiful palate with cherries, chocolate, hazelnut and orange peel. Pretty blackcurrants and blue berries, too. Medium body. The finish has gorgeous al-dente fruit at the end and is always subtle. Open tannins. 93-95 Wine Advocate One of the most suave, classy vintages from this estate in some years, the 2023 Malescot St. Exupery is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot. Wafting from the glass with aromas of cherries, berries, licorice and pencil shavings, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with good depth at the core, supple tannins and a harmonious, integrated profile. Part of the blend is maturing in foudre. 94 Jeb Dunnuck Rocking red and black fruits, spicy wood, savory herbs, and sandalwood notes all define the 2023 Château Malescot Saint Exupéry, and it’s medium-bodied, supple, and elegant on the palate, with beautiful tannins. It’s another impressively textured, balanced Margaux in the vintage that has ample charm and character. 94 Decanter Here we have a wine that succeeds with aromatic refinement, including white flower, crushed herbs, blackberry, plum, cassis and raspberry with hints of fine dark chocolate. Quite nice indeed. Now, the palate does have an initially tight and structured feel, highlighted by high-toned, crisp fruit, but then comes the seashell fresh finish, which grew on me, with a veritably appealing drinkability aspect. Potential for a higher score once barrel ageing takes its course. 92-94 Vinous The 2023 Malescot St. Exupéry is a powerful Margaux that will need a bit of time to come together. Potent tannins wrap around a core of red/purplish fruit, lavender, mint and dried herbs.
