Alain Graillot, La Guiraude, Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2020	95 James Suckling A fragrant nose of spiced cherries, ripe blackberries, dried herbs, baking spices and hints of earth follow through to a medium body with finely grained tannins. It has precision with a slight bitterness on the mid-palate. Layered and funnelled with a mineral edge. Long savory and spicy finish. Best after 2026. 94 Vinous Precise black cherry, red plum, cedar and pencil shaving come alive in the glass. Full-bodied, polished and complex, the 2020 engages the palate with ample personality and spot-on balance. It terminates with outstanding length on the fresh, savory finish. This is Crozes-Hermitage at its nest. 93 Wine Spectator Sultry and smoldering, with incense and an attractive cherry and blackberry core. Powerful and densely packed on the smooth palate, with softening tannins still guiding the long, salty, iron-infused finish, which stands firm. Polished and well-crafted, with impressive texture. The nose reveals notes of cassis, dark cherries, currants, violets and warm spices. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Chalky and focused, with a juicy core of cherries mingling with the violets.
