Domaine Berthet-Rayne, Chateauneuf du Pape "Futs de Chene" 2019	94 Decanter A really lovely example, that shows off the aromatic freshness of Clairette teamed with the brisk acidity of Bourboulenc. Gently weighty on the palate but no excess fat, finishing fresh and lively. Drink young. Organically grown on limestone and galets roulés, this is a blend of 40% Bourboulenc, 30% Clairette, 10% Roussanne, 10% Clairette Rose and 10% Grenache Blanc, all fermented then aged for five months in concrete tank. 93 James Suckling Seriously funky nose (reduction), but with some aeration lily and graphite aromas emerge, together with some very ripe red fruit.
