This beauty just explodes out of the glass with complex, exotic notes of acacia flowers, menthol, sappy herbs, bacon fat, and loads of raspberry and black raspberry-like fruit. Full-bodied and seamless, with this cuvée’s always present elegance, 2-4 years of bottle age will be warranted, and it will cruise for 15-20 years.

The 2016 Cote Rotie Lancement lacks a bit of power, but oh my, is it a silky, sexy mouthful of wine. Roses, black tea and raspberries set the stage on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is supple, silky and complex.
