Weinbach Furstentum Grand Cru "Pinots" 2021	95 James Suckling This effortlessly integrates the rich and creamy, spicy and textural sides of Alsace wines to create a powerful yet animating whole. Lots of melon and persimmon, but this is anything other than loudly fruity. A co-fermentation of pinot gris, pinot blanc and auxerrois. Drink or hold. 93 Vinous The 2021 Pinots Furstentum Grand Cru is made from about 60% Pinot Gris; the rest is from an adjoining block that is a field blend of Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois; all are co-fermented and aged in small barrels with 20% new oak. The vines are around 40 years old. The nose is vivid with green and yellow pear alongside fresh, ripe lemon – all embraced by a subtle creaminess of oak.
