Weinbach Pinot Gris Les Caracoles 2022	91 Vinous The 2022 Pinot Gris Les Caracoles is shy, advancing just gentle lemon overtones. The palate is surprisingly linear and imbued with a lovely coolness and a streamlined body with a little oaky smoke. The 2022 is unusually linear, cool and bone dry. It’s most convincing with an inherent limestone coolness from this lieu-diet called Schneckentor at the foot of the Altenbourgwith deeper soils, so much more water retention and freshness here. Superb balance. (Bone-Dry) 94 James Suckling This dry pinot gris has a wonderfully ripe melon nose with a thread of floral honey running through it, but no hint of the opulence that’s so often associated with those aromas in Alsace.
