Weinbach la Colline du Chateau

An intense color, accompanied by a delicate and powerful smoky nose. A complex and satin-smooth texture on the palate, with supple tannins, as a result of optimal ripeness and mastered aging. A very suave evolution that ends on a fruit-forward finish with notes of cherry and small red berries. Beautiful length. Pairs perfectly with surf and turf dishes, red meats, mushroom-based dishes and cured meats.

Farming Methods: Organic and Biodynamic (certified by Ecocert & Demeter) Short pruning of the vines to keep yields low. Hand-picked at optimum maturity to reinforce the aromatic expression and body of the wines.

Soil: Grand Cru Schlossberg: on a base of granite rocks, the soils are brown, slightly acidic, pebbly, of very good mineral fertility, of a shallow depth at the top of the slope and deeper at the bottom. The soils are very well drained and warm up very rapidly.

Weinbach la Colline du Chateau 2021	93 James Suckling A cool and elegant pinot noir with fine sour cherry and red currant fruit. The discreet tannins on the sleek and medium-bodied palate give this a clear line. Delicate forest floor and licorice notes in the long, refined finish. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Drink or hold. 93 Vinous The 2021 Pinot Noir La Colline du Château was harvested on the granite soils of Grand Cru Schlossberg. It was fermented with 20% whole bunches and spent 18 months in oak. The color is translucent, and the nose opens with ripe mulberry and just a lick of vanilla—tender, fresh and bright. A little oak on the palate clouds the fruit, while the 2021’s freshness presents as luminous brightness. The fine tannins have a gentle crunch.
