Sauzet, Bienvenues Batard-Montrachet Grand Cru
Silky on the attack, the wine initially feels round and juicy then quickly shifts to show a salty, chalky edge. This is a reserved and tightly structured Bienvenues with reverberating acidity. It is also a fine example of how oak use is being highly reconsidered, even on Grand Crus. There is no new oak here; rather there are two 350-L barrels and one, once-used fut.
