Sauzet, Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru
This comes from two grape growers, one in Ladoix and one in Pernand. The palate feel shows the rigor of Charlemagne. It is a sturdy wine with lots of chalky texture and struck match that needs time to settle out within the layers of exotic citrus, peach and melon. The vague toastiness adds to the impressive complexity. Just give this a few more years – Tim Atkin, 95 pts
