Villa Estuaire, Pauillac
This is a tiny 1.4ha site near the prestige village of Pauillac (which is closer to the estuary of the Gironde than the city of Bordeaux) owned by the Vialard family of Chateau Cissac. The rounded low hilltops of gravel and clay face the estuary with a S-E exposure and this “show-piece” “garden” estate is planted with 75% cabernet and 25% merlot. Low cropped at 3 tones / acre and harvested manually. The wine is aged 100% in barrels and from the note above you can tell it’s a classic Pauillac in style.
