Although they account for less than 10% of Larkmead’s production, the white wines can stand shoulder to shoulder with Napa Valley’s best. As the Merlot is a shape shifter that pretends to be Cabernet Sauvignon, Lillie replicates that same ambiguity – a Sauvignon Blanc that acts as a Chardonnay. The nose may be aromatically in tune with its variety, but the palate possesses the weight and gravitas of a Chardonnay. The result is an incredibly distinctive effort made from a small parcel of grapes that benefits from extended elevage and bottle aging.

92pts The Wine Advocate– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE
The 2017 Sauvignon Blanc Lillie (100% Sauvignon Blanc, aged eight months in French oak, 36% new) comes charging out of the glass with intense scents of lemon curd, fresh grapefruit, pineapple and peach juice with hints of wild thyme, elderflower and musk perfume. Medium-bodied, the palate reveals fantastically concentrated stone fruit and citrus layers with tropical fruit and herbal accents and a gorgeous satiny texture, finishing with great length and freshness. 374 cases were made.

92pts Vinous – Antonio Galloni– 2018 vintage

FOR THE 2018 VINTAGE
Larkmead’s 2018 Sauvignon Blanc Lillie is rich, deep and powerful, with a real sense of phenolic intensity that amps up a whole range of green, grassy varietal notes. Lemon peel, sage, white pepper and green apple add freshness and vibrancy. This is such a pretty wine!
