Aromas of plums, cassis, and cherries presented in a mediumbodied, spicy style with beautifully pure fruit, a savory mouthfeel, moderate but ripe, sweet tannin, and a long finish. It should drink nicely for a decade or more.
93pts The Wine Advocate– 2016 vintage
FOR THE 2016 VINTAGE
In contrast to the 2015’s dark fruit and firm tannins, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape features lacy notes of raspberry and cherry, tinged with peppery herbs. It’s full-bodied and creamy, with green peppercorn flavors popping up on the long, silky finish. It’s approachable now, but it should drink well through 2030.
