Intense and deep color, emphasizing the great body and signs. Ripeness on the nose with perfumed sweet fruit. Complex flavours on the palate with ripe and fleshy characteristics. Big structure maintaining balanced tannins. Plum and blackcurrant liqueur are combined very well with the toasting of the French oak. A bit dry towards the back and has a slight rustic charm. Powerful concentration and great balance.

N/Apts Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar– 2012 vintage

FOR THE 2012 VINTAGE
Bright dark red with ruby highlights. Lively minty lift to the slightly inky aromas of blackberry, blueberry, spicy oak and pepper. Densely packed and ripe, offering solid breadth and depth to the fine-grained flavors of sweet dark berries and chocolatey oak. Finishes with good energy and even tannins.

90pts The Wine Advocate– 2012 vintage

FOR THE 2012 VINTAGE
The 2012 Cuatro Primos Blend is a blend of 50% Malbec, 35% Syrah, 10% Bonarda and 5% Petit Verdot from the Uco Valley, aged for one year in second and third-use French oak barrels. Even though the smoky and charred notes are still quite evident, the palate displays good, ripe and concentrated fruit with polished, sophisticated tannins, and sweetness, probably from the sheer concentration of fruit. A big, modern, impressive wine. Drink 2014-2017.
