Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Grand Cru Les Preuses

This Grand Cru has rather exceptional capacities of ageing. Very Chablis, with a very well – marked minerality, it imposes the respect. Powerful, bruter, very rich and very fine, it is different to the other Grands Crus. In mouth, it is supple, full – bodied, round, very elegant, with a magnificent revival in the finish : the sensual delight.

FOR THE 2011 VINTAGE
Musky, floral perfume, saffron, crushed chalk, fusil oils, and sea breeze constitute the intriguing aromatic messages of Brocard’s 2011 Chablis Les Preuses – which was raised in concrete egg and older barrique – though, for now at least, this translates into a mildly muddled palate impression. There is richness here without weight, and ultimately considerable complexity to the wine’s long finish, corresponding to that in the nose. This may just need time in bottle to sort itself out. It will almost surely be worth following through 2018, and hopefully beyond.

FOR THE 2011 VINTAGE
This is presently an exercise in discretion and understatement with the shy aromas of soft floral aromas where added breadth in present in the form of pear, quinine and sea shore hints. There is fine density to the beautifully harmonious and attractively vibrant flavors that possess lovely depth on the balanced and beautifully lingering finish. A classic Preuses of grace and purity.
