Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis Vielles Vignes 18

The sixty-year old vines produce more concentrated grapes. Their roots are deeply established in the ground (up to 25 metres) and draw the essential nutriments to give a perfect, balanced wine. Jean-Marc Brocard uses all his know-how to preserve the Kimmeridgian soil and his wines reveal all the typical minerality of the Chablis appellation.

91pts Decanter Magazine– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE
Made with organically farmed grapes, this old-vine Chablis comes from vineyards planted in 1946. It’s ripe and honeyed, with notes of thatch and aromatic herbs alongside balancing acidity.

91pts Vinous – Antonio Galloni– 2018 vintage

FOR THE 2018 VINTAGE
The 2018 Chablis Sainte Claire Vieilles Vignes shows more focus and tension than the straight Sainte Claire bottling. Lemon confit, marzipan, white flowers and light tropical notes show a good bit of weight and oily texture, and yet the 2018 remains bright, with plenty of energy and drive. Crushed rocks and a range of darker, soil-inflected undertones give the 2018 a hint of darkness that adds character.
