Lagar de Costa is small family run winery located on the Atlantic shore, opposite the island of La Toja in the heart of the Salnes region of Rias Baixas. Lagar de Costa has a long tradition of growing Albariño which goes back to the beginning of the 20th century, but it has only been bottling its fruit since 2001. The wine is highly aromatic, with citric, herbal and floral tones; crisp, clean and fresh with considerable acidity, it is medium-bodied with a silky texture and great minerality.  Yellow with green hues, aromatic herbs, candied fruits, toasted cereals, mineral finish, round on the palate, fresh ripe fruit and fine lees.

Quite restrained with a touch of minerality. Dry and racy on the palate, very precise, linear and intense; very good length. The Lagar de Costa is the commercial name of the winery run by Dolores Fontán Limeres, a family property producing Rías Baixas wines in Cambados since 2001. They work five hectares of Albariño in the Salnés zone, some of them extremely old, and purchase 5% of grapes to complement some of their wines. Annual production averages 50,00 bottles. Very polished wines, which could push it a bit further. A name to follow.
