Fermented and aged in small, unlined, locally made clay amphora, with no SO2 additions, this is a profound red Priorat with exotic aromas of iron and earth, black fruits, wild berries and oregano. The palate is juicy and wild, with earthy black plums and berries, rich red beets, robust tannin and acid anchored by broad, slately, minerality. A robust and transparent expression of a powerful place, particularly suited to lamb stews and braises in rich sauce

90pts The Wine Advocate– 2013 vintage

FOR THE 2013 VINTAGE
The 2013 Partida Pedrè is a young, fruit-driven, heady effort with aromas of macerated cherries, damsons, hints of malt and peaty whisky that is really intoxicating with aromas that I’ve seen in some top wines from Bierzo and elsewhere. The palate is a bit dry and young, this is mostly Garnacha first produced in 2011, aged in terracotta amphorae and bottled without any added sulfur. I think it still needs some time to polish some edges, as today the nose is really approachable but the palate less so.
