94pts Wine Advocate– 2016 vintage

FOR THE 2016 VINTAGE
Lorenzon’s 2016 Mercurey 1er Cru Clos de Champs Martin Cuvée Carline is very different from this year’s regular Champs Martin bottling, exhibiting brooding aromas of blackberry, cassis, violets and lilac that almost evoke classical Côte-Rôtie. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and multidimensional, with more amplitude and power, its deep core of fruit framed by firm, tensile tannins. Of all Lorenzon’s reds, this will require the most time in bottle, but its potential is immense.

93pts Decanter– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE
Produced from 60-year-old vines on white clay soils, this ambitious red was made with 75% whole bunches in 2017. It’s floral and spicy with notes of wild herbs and black cherry, and impressive underlying concentration.
