Ruby-red. Spicy, refined aromas of red cherry, raspberry and flowers. Bright, pure and focused, this medium-bodied wine exhibits pristine red cherry and red berry flavors lifted by minerals and flowers. The very long, smooth finish features lingering strawberry and white pepper nuances hinting at cabernet franc and polished tannins. I never would have guessed this was carrying 15% alcohol.

FOR THE 2010 VINTAGE:
This is nicely cloaked with charcoal and roasted apple wood, while the core of steeped fig, blackberry and black cherry paste notes sits in reserve. The well-defined finish is mostly grip for now, but should meld in the cellar. Best from 2014 through 2026.

Earthy scents, plums and stone work well with the mineral driven, dark berry finish, but the tannins are a bit dry and severe.

91pts Tasted– 2010 vintage

Licorice, stone, coffee and blackberries make up the perfume. In the mouth, a blast of fresh black cherries, pepper and vanilla bean.
