The Barbera d’Alba Aves is superb. Rich, dense and concentrated, it also has more than enough structure to balance the wine’s more overt leanings. A rush of cherry jam, blood orange, mint, dried flowers and menthol build into the potent, super-rich finish. What a gorgeous wine this is.
