Dido La Universal Montsant White

This wine was born out love, out of intuition…Faithful to our belief to recover part of our past, or our traditions, we chose to make a Mediterranean white wine using local grape varieties: Garnatxa blanca (White Grenache), Macabeu (Viura) and Cartoixà (xarel·lo)… Voluptuousness, elegance and rectitude. Words with a capital letter. This wine reminds us of the fragrances of autumn, ripe fruit, nuts and raisins, seeds…an enchanting creamy texture with a long finish…

93pts Wine Advocate– 2017 vintage

If the rosé has the spirit of a white, the white 2017 Dido Blanc has the structure of a red, as it macerated with skins for some 30 days, but it’s quite pale (the Macabeo does not go golden, and this Garnacha Blanca from granite just doesn’t even if the variety normally does). The wine has a vibrant and lively nose and incredible balance on the palate, with good ripeness and unnoticeable alcohol balanced by very good freshness. It has very fine tannins and a dry, austere and stony finish. I’d give this the edge over the most recent vintages, as it is incredible for a warm and early harvest like 2017. 22,000 bottles produced.(LG) Inner quote mark (8/2019)
