This is from the declassified young vines of the hillsides of Chavannay in Condrieu. Villard, one of the stars of the appellation, has fashioned a Viognier with loads of stuffing, minerality, and tropical fruit intermixed with floral notes. Very friendly, with peach, anise and melon flavors kept lively by a tangy note of green almond. A mineral hint adds length. Excellent pairing with spicy dishes and goat cheese.
