91pts Vinous – Antonio Galloni– 2014 vintage

FOR THE 2014 VINTAGE
(these vines are adjacent to the Derrière Chez Edouard but are planted on decomposed, rocky calcaire and are picked earlier): Musky, restrained nose communicates a warmer minerality; less iodiney than the Derrière Chez Edouard. Sappy and rich but uncompromisingly dry. Less “cool” in character than the last wine but still shows a brisk lemon peel note. Finishes subtle and long, with very good cut.

91pts Vinous – Antonio Galloni– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE – 91 POINTS
The 2017 Saint-Aubin Les Frionnes 1er Cru comes from vines planted as far back as 1935. It has a captivating mineral driven bouquet with touches of sea spray and oyster shell joining the malic fruit. The palate is well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and focused with a delicate but quite persistent finish that leaves a saline residue. This is very promising.

91pts The Wine Advocate– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE – 91 POINTS
The 2017 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Frionnes unfurls with notes of sweet citrus, grapefruit pith and crushed chalk, followed by a medium-bodied, tangy and mineral palate with a chalky, mouthwatering finish. Vibrant and focused, it will be well worth seeking out.
