Les Cris parcel dominates our estate. Situated above the wine cellars, it is devoted entirely to Pinot Noir. The first vines were planted by Henry Pellé in 1967. Exposure is from east to west which provides differing grape maturities over the course of one week of harvesting. Les Cris offers us a beautifully dense Pinot Noir that is always well-built with the tannin framework mixing marvellously with both fruit and freshness. A great wine for mealtimes.

FOR THE 2012 VINTAGE
Les Cris, just above the Domaine, is a five-hectare block devoted entirely to Pinot Noir. The first vines were planted by Henry Pellé in 1967. Today, the plantation density is quite high with 7,500 vines per hectare. Based on lower Kimmeridgian and upper Portlandian marl soils, the medium to full-bodied 2012 Menetou-Salon Morogues Les Cris is a nicely perfumed and floral scented Pinot Noir with a good, meaty fruit concentration of dark cherries and berries, a lovely freshness and a firm tannin structure. Aged in 50% wooden vats and 50% 400-liter barrels for 11 months, it is still quite young but has an aging potential for at least five years.
