Jean-Marc Brocard Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 18

Downstream of the Serein, the river which runs through the Chablis vineyards, the Fourchaume terroir has a richer soil than the rest of the vineyard, due to the alluvial soils which are washed by the river. This makes for more flattering, pleasant and supple wines that still carry the mineral quality of the Chablis.

91pts The Wine Advocate – 2015 vintage

FOR THE 2015 VINTAGE
The 2015 Chablis Fourchaume has a pretty and well-defined bouquet with scents of apple blossom, granite and hints of white peach. This is nicely focused. The palate is very well balanced with a fine thread of acidity. It captures the plushness and exoticism of the warm season in a very subtle manner: veins of white peach, guava and passion fruit that thankfully do not impede upon the terroir expression. Excellent.

93pts Wine Enthusiast– 2017 vintage

FOR THE 2017 VINTAGE
This is a rich style of Chablis, profiting from the deeper soil of the vineyard. It is full bodied while never losing sight of the essential minerality and crispness of the Chardonnay. The wine is already packed with fruit but needs to age further. Drink from 2021.CELLAR SELECTION
