Thibault Liger Belair Gevrey-Chambertin Croix des Champs 17

This is a terroir that offers firm and deep wines due to the deep clay. The stems we have used in this wine since 2006 give freshness and a more floral side than usually is found in this terroir.

N/Apts The Wine Advocate– 2016 vintage

FOR THE 2016 VINTAGE
The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin Croix des Champs includes 50% whole cluster this year. It has a crisp, detailed bouquet with vibrant red and black fruit, hints of wet loam surfacing with time and mutating into more floral aromas with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, good density, tightening up toward the finish to suggest that it will need a couple of years in bottle. I admire the nascent energy of this Gevrey.
