A brisk, electric white, with peach, ripe apple and mineral flavors vibrating off the laser like structure. It’s light-weight and leaves a tangy impression.

N/A pts Wine Enthusiast – 2015 vintage

“Bright, cheery whiffs of sugar cookie crumbs and Meyer lemon zest perfume this sunny off-dry Riesling. On the palate, sweet-tart tangerine mingles into more savory notes of bees wax and pollen. The finish is brisk but refreshing. Valckenberg International, Inc. —A.I”

N/A pts The Wine Advocate – 2014 vintage

“The 2014 Saarstein Riesling (AP #05 15) offers a clear, pretty deep and intense, well focused bouquet of ripe and slightly botrytized Riesling flavors intermixed with the coolish precision and spiciness of a classic Saar Riesling. Round, juicy and piquant on the palate, this is a light and fruity, almost lush though elegant and precise Riesling with a firm mineral structure and a moderate alcohol level of 9.5%. Although it is nice to drink today, I would rather store it for two or three years, or serve it with slightly spicy lighter dishes. Christian Ebert is very happy with his 2014 vintage though you better shouldn’t fear the steely acidity the Schloss Saarsteiner Rieslings are well known for. Most of the wines were made with botrytis which gives fruit and a good mid palate but takes away a bit of clarity. This is a good to very good selection although outstanding wines are missing.”
